The chamber of Commerce in Hartselle is located in the old train depot. It has been preserved and is open to the public.It still hosts wedding parties, business meetings and is most often used for politicin' or Stumping as some call it.
Hartselle's downtown area is well known as having one of the richest assortment of antique shops. Hartselle is also home to one of the oldest antique auctions in Alabama. Many people travel even a few thousand miles to attend their high end furniture and antique auctions up to 4 times a year.
The whistle is loud when old CSX comes through. You can be sitting in a local restaurant or looking at rare old antiques and hear the rattling of lamps and windows as the train comes roaring through. Like olden days when the train was the only fast means of getting or shipping goods and materials along with people and families.

Decatur's River front is breathtaking. The raised and lowered railroad bridge is always a treat to watch in action. Across the river is the Hard dock Cafe offering an assortment of seafood and beef and poultry that will make your appetite grow. The pier is great for launching your sport or fishing boats. many fishing tournaments are seen at this pier.
